Inspiration: Kenya in Photos

Last week’s Top Billing Sure Travel insert featured presenter Janez Vermeiren in Mombasa, Kenya, where he dived into the clear waters of the marine park and investigated this city’s fascinating history.  With mountains and deserts, a colourful tribal culture, beaches and coral reefs, it is no wonder that a trip to this exotic country was soon added to most viewers’ Dream Holiday Lists!
What better way to give you some travel inspiration, than with a visual feast of the colours, sights & textures of Kenya – a gallery of photos!

Mombasa is the largest city on the Kenyan coast and also the largest coastal port in East Africa. Traders have been coming here since at least the 12th century, and during its bloody history the city changed hands dozens of times. Mombasa’ story is evident in the jumble of cultures, architecture and flavours that evade the city’s streets – Hindu warehouses, Moroccan architectural details, Indian spice markets and Portuguese remnants are squeezed together in a mix of colour, texture and detail.

If you’re looking for that little bit of luxury to come home to after a long day sightseeing, then Leopard Beach Resort and Spa is a little slice of paradise on Mombasa’s Diani Beach. The Top Billing crew stayed at this luxurious resort and experienced “the good life” in abundance – and it’s not a surprise. Leopard Beach Resort & Spa was voted Kenya's Leading Resort in 2010 & 2011 at the prestigious World Travel Awards.
