The billboards form part of the airline’s new Magic of Flying campaign and use custom-built surveillance technology to track the aircraft. There is even a weather feed that reads cloud height to ensure that the plane is visible from the ground before showing the ad.
Created by ad agency Ogilvy 12th Floor, the #Lookup campaign is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. Abigail Comber, British Airways' head of marketing, says, "We hope it will create a real ‘wow’ and people will be reminded how amazing flying is and how accessible the world can be."
